Pre-Flight Preparation

Area of Operation: “Pre-flight Preparation” is complete when the following tasks have been achieved:

A. Pilot Qualifications: exhibits satisfactory knowledge, risk management, and skills associated with the requirements to act as PIC under instrument flight rules.
B. Weather Information: exhibits satisfactory knowledge, risk management, and skills associated with obtaining, understanding, and applying weather information for a flight under IFR.
C. Cross-Country Flight Planning: exhibits satisfactory knowledge, risk management, and skills associated with planning an IFR cross-country and filing an IFR flight plan.

3 Required Steps

• Earn “Pilot Qualifications” 1 time.
• Earn “Cross-Country Flight Planning” 1 time.
• Earn “Weather Information” 1 time.
