Renewing Instrument Currency

Instrument rated pilots who have not met instrument currency requirements described within FAR 61.57 will need to complete an Instrument Proficiency Check in order to regain their instrument flying privileges.

A pilot taking an IPC is expected to meet criteria detailed within specific tasks of the Airman Certification Standards.

All pilots are encouraged to complete the Instrument Proficiency Check Review Guide course on the FAA Safety Team’s web site and print the course completion certificate prior to the IPC. The course is free and only requires that you create an account. https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?cID=38&sID=211&crID=1597706
