Aircraft checkouts are required for the rental of all aircraft.  It’s also a great way to stay proficient and enhance your flying skills while learning the systems and flight characteristics of a new airplane. The pilot must operate the aircraft in compliance with current Federal Aviation Regulations and comply with the aircraft’s operating procedures detailed within the Pilot’s Operating Handbook. The Flight Instructor’s assessment of the pilot’s ability to do this will be based on the FAA Airman’s Certification Standards for the type of certificate hold by the renter pilot.
